How to Customize Displayed Search Results in Total Search Module
The Total Search module for PrestaShop offers a range of customization options to fine-tune how search results are displayed on your website. By adjusting these settings, you can enhance the search experience for your customers and ensure that search results are presented effectively.
Configuring search result display settings
Navigate to the "Search result" tab in the Total Search module configuration page to access the display settings.
Option | Settings | Description |
---|---|---|
Delay time between Ajax requests | X (ms) | This setting allows you to control the delay time between two Ajax search requests. For fast servers, you can leave it blank for instant results. If your server is weaker, increasing this value can prevent overload from multiple simultaneous Ajax requests. |
Limit word number of short descriptions in Ajax search result | Number of words | This option lets you set a limit on the number of words displayed in short descriptions within Ajax search results, ensuring that the results remain concise and easy to read. |
Limit word number of short descriptions on the Search result page | Number of words | Similar to the Ajax search results, this setting allows you to limit the number of words in a short description on the main search result page. |
Setting the number of Ajax search results and the number of results displayed on search result page | Number of results | This setting determines how many search results are displayed in the Ajax dropdown menu and on the main search result page. |
Customizing the search result page title | Title of search result page | You can customize the title of search result page to better match your website’s branding or the specific search context. |
By configuring these settings, you can optimize the display of search results on your PrestaShop site, making it easier for customers to find and engage with your products. If you have any questions or need further assistance, please contact our support team.
