How to Set Up a Cronjob to Rebuild Index for Total Search Module

Setting up a cronjob to rebuild the search index automatically ensures that your PrestaShop store always delivers the most up-to-date search results. Here's a step-by-step guide on configuring the cronjob for the Total Search module.

Step 1: Enable cronjob

First, navigate to the "General settings" tab on the Total Search module configuration page.

Toggle “Enable cronjob” option to "Yes". This allows you to set up a cronjob that will periodically rebuild your search index.

Step 2: Secure your cronjob

To ensure that only authorized users can trigger the cronjob, you need to set a secure token. Click on “Generate” button to get a new secure token. This token will be included in the URL used to trigger the cronjob.

Step 3: Configure the cronjob URL

You can set up a cron job that will rebuild your index using the following URL provided by our module. Read this article to learn how to set up a cronjob on your server.

If you need to rebuild your index manually, you can click on the “Execute cronjob manually” button. This will manually trigger the cronjob and rebuild your search index.

Step 4: Save cronjob log

For debugging purposes, you can choose to save logs of the cronjob executions. Turn on “Save Cronjob log” option if you want to keep logs. This is recommended for debugging and monitoring the cronjob activities.

By setting up a cronjob to rebuild your search index, you ensure that your PrestaShop store's search functionality is always up-to-date, providing the best possible experience for your customers. If you have any questions or need further assistance, feel free to contact our support team.
