Does Loading More Product Blocks Affect Page Load Speed?

Adding product suggestion blocks to your store's front office enhances customer engagement and sales. However, displaying multiple product blocks can sometimes impact your website's loading speed, leading to longer wait times for your customers.

To address this, Cross Selling Pro includes a smart cache feature that ensures optimal page performance while delivering an enhanced shopping experience.

Why enable smart cache?

  • Faster page load speed: Reduce the time it takes for your pages to display fully.
  • Improved user experience: Customers enjoy seamless browsing without unnecessary delays.
  • Efficient resource management: Minimizes the impact of additional product blocks on your server.

How to enable the smart cache feature

Follow these steps to optimize your page load speed:

Step 1: Access the module configuration

Log in to your PrestaShop back office.

Navigate to Modules > Module Manager.

Locate Cross Selling Pro and click the Configure button to open the settings page.

Step 2: Open the General Settings menu

Once on the configuration page, click on the General Settings tab.

Step 3: Enable smart cache

Find the option labeled Enable cache in the settings.

Toggle this option to On to activate the caching feature.

Step 4: Set the cache lifetime

In the field for Cache lifetime, specify the duration (in minutes) for which the product suggestion blocks will remain cached.

Example: Setting it to 60 minutes means the cache will refresh every hour.

Step 5: Clear the cache manually (if needed)

To remove outdated cached content immediately, click on the Clear cache button.

Step 6: Save your configuration

Scroll to the bottom of the page.

Click the Save button to apply your changes.

Enabling the smart cache feature in Cross Selling Pro ensures your store remains fast and responsive, even with multiple product suggestion blocks. Implement this solution today to deliver a smooth and efficient shopping experience!
