How to Transfer Themes, Modules, and Custom CSS

When migrating your PrestaShop websites, it's important to note that your themes, modules, and custom CSS will not be automatically transferred. Here's what you need to do:

Backup your themes, modules, and custom CSS

Before starting the migration process, make sure to create backups of your themes, modules, and any custom CSS you've implemented on your current website. This ensures that you have a copy of these elements in case anything goes wrong during or after the migration.

After migration

Once the migration is complete, you'll need to manually upload your themes, modules, and custom CSS to your Target PrestaShop site. Here's how you can proceed:

Themes

If your theme is compatible with the PrestaShop version of your Target website, you can upload it to your Target site and activate it as usual. However, if your theme is not compatible, you may need to look for an updated version or choose a new theme that is compatible with your Target website.

Modules

Similarly, if your modules are compatible with the new PrestaShop version, you can upload and install them on your target site. Be sure to check for any updates or compatibility issues before proceeding. If your modules are not compatible, you may need to find alternative solutions or updated versions or contact the module’s developer for help.

Custom CSS

If you've implemented custom CSS on your source website, you'll need to manually add it to your target PrestaShop site. You can do this by accessing the CSS files of your new theme and inserting your custom styles accordingly.

Testing compatibility

After uploading your themes and modules to the target site, it's important to test their compatibility and functionality. Make sure that everything works as expected and that there are no conflicts or errors.
