How to Create a Contact Form Using Contact Form 7

Creating a contact form for your PrestaShop website is simple with the Contact Form 7 module. This module allows you to create any type of form, such as contact forms, registration forms, quote forms, and order forms. Follow these steps to create your first contact form:

Step 1: Access the contact form section

  • Click "Contact forms" on the sidebar menu.
  • Click the "+" button to add a new contact form.

 

Step 2: Configure the form

Form tab

Fill in the required fields and select optional settings:

  • Title: This is the form title displayed on the front end.
  • Form (Form editor): Your form content must be written in HTML code. Use the tag-generator tools to generate Form-tags and compile the form you need. You can also insert any HTML tags to shape your desired contact form.
  • Click "Preview" to see the form before publishing.
  • Click “Save” to save your contact form.

 

Mail tab

Configure the email settings for your form:

  • To: Recipient email address.
  • Bcc: Additional recipient email addresses for blind carbon copy.
  • From: Authorized email address (usually your shop SMTP email or an email associated with your domain if using the default Mail() function).
  • Subject: Email subject line.
  • Reply to: Email address for replies.
  • Message body: The content of the email.
  • File attachments: Enter respective mail-tags for file form-tags used in the "Form editor" to receive files via email.

Optional: Use Mail (2) as an additional mail template, often used as an autoresponder.

 
Message tab

Customize messages displayed in various situations: You can edit any messages that appear when customers use the contact form on the front end. The default messages are suitable for most forms but can be changed easily in the "Messages" tab.

 
SEO tab

Optimize your form for search engines:

  • Enable a separate form page: Decide if you want to create a specific web page to display the form.
  • Contact alias: URL alias for the form page.
  • Meta title: Title for SEO.
  • Meta keywords: Enter keywords for SEO.
  • Meta description: Description for SEO.

 

"Thank you" page

Set up a thank you page after form submission:

  • Display "Thank you" page: Decide if you want to show a thank you page after the form is submitted.
  • "Thank you" page: Choose between a default page or a custom URL.
  • Custom URL: Redirect customers to this URL after form submission.

 
Settings tab

Adjust additional settings for your form:

  • Save messages: Save customer messages to the "Messages" tab.
  • Save attachments: Save the attached files on your server (optional).
  • Star messages: Highlight messages sent from this contact form in the "Messages" tab.
  • Open form by button: Set to “Yes” if you want to display a button that opens the form in a popup when clicked.
  • Preserved display position (default Prestashop hooks): Choose where to display the contact form on your site, including the header, home page, product pages, and more.
  • Activate contact form: Enable or disable the contact form.
