Frequently Asked Questions About One Page Checkout

Checkout is where sales are won or lost, so it's natural to have questions before changing it — and while fine-tuning it. This FAQ compiles what PrestaShop merchants ask most about One Page Checkout, from pre-purchase evaluation to everyday use, with honest answers based on real customer conversations.

Group 1: Compatibility

Q: Is One Page Checkout compatible with PrestaShop 9?

A: Module compatible with PrestaShop 1.7.0.0 up to 9.2.0.

Q: Which PHP versions does One Page Checkout support?

A: The module code requires PHP 7.1.0 or higher. In practice, PHP compatibility follows the PrestaShop version you run — if your shop runs stably on your PHP version, One Page Checkout is compatible.

Q: Is One Page Checkout a payment gateway? Does it process payments itself?

A: No. One Page Checkout is not a payment processor — it displays and uses the payment methods from the payment modules already installed in your PrestaShop (Stripe, PayPal, bank wire, COD, etc.). You still need those payment modules configured; One Page Checkout only presents them on the single checkout page.

Q: Which payment modules work with One Page Checkout?

A: One Page Checkout collects payment options through PrestaShop's standard payment pipeline and ships dedicated integration adapters for popular modules (Stripe Official, PrestaShop Checkout, Klarna, Revolut, Paybox, Tpay and others). Most payment modules that follow PrestaShop standards work, but some may need custom adaptation — our team can check your specific payment setup after purchase.

Q: Does One Page Checkout work with pickup-point shipping modules like InPost or Mondial Relay?

A: Carriers and shipping options render through PrestaShop's carrier APIs, and One Page Checkout includes adapters for several shipping modules (Mondial Relay, Colissimo, InPost, SendCloud and others). Whether a pickup-point selector initializes and keeps the selected point after AJAX updates depends on the shipping module's cooperation — test it in test mode with your exact module version before going live.

Q: Can I install One Page Checkout together with the Extra Customer Fields module?

A: No. Installation is blocked when Extra Customer Fields (etsextracustomerfields) is detected, because the two modules overlap on customer fields. You must uninstall or disable Extra Customer Fields before installing One Page Checkout.

Q: Does One Page Checkout install any overrides?

A: One Page Checkout manages an override of Carrier::getAvailableCarrierList with built-in conflict resolution against other modules' overrides. If another module overrides the same class, the module attempts to resolve it, but unsupported third-party overrides may require manual merging by our team.

Group 2: Checkout features

Q: How does One Page Checkout change the default checkout flow?

A: One Page Checkout replaces the multi-step checkout with a single page: account, address, shipping, payment, cart summary and additional info all render on one page with AJAX updates, while keeping the friendly URL of the native order page. The underlying order process stays the standard PrestaShop one, so order data and tracking keep working.

Q: Can customers check out as guests with One Page Checkout?

A: Yes. One Page Checkout offers three account tabs — create account, login, and guest — and you choose which tab is shown by default. Guest checkout still depends on the guest option being enabled in your PrestaShop settings.

Q: Can I test One Page Checkout before making it live for all visitors?

A: Yes. Enable test mode and add your IP address (or your QA team's IPs) to the allowlist — only those visitors see One Page Checkout while everyone else keeps the default checkout. Disable test mode when you are ready for the full rollout.

Q: Does One Page Checkout work on mobile devices?

A: Yes. One Page Checkout uses responsive templates with four layout options (two-column 33/66 by default, single column, three columns, two-column 66/33), so the checkout adapts to mobile screens.

Q: What is the Buy Now button in One Page Checkout?

A: An optional button shown under "Add to cart" on product pages that takes the shopper straight to checkout, skipping the cart page. It is disabled by default and can be enabled in the module settings.

Group 3: Social login

Q: Which social networks does One Page Checkout support for login?

A: PayPal, Facebook and Google — these three providers are built into One Page Checkout via Hybridauth. Apple, Amazon and other networks are not supported.

Q: Where do the social login buttons appear in One Page Checkout?

A: You choose where the buttons show: on the checkout page, on the login/register pages, or both. Each provider (PayPal, Facebook, Google) is enabled separately with its own app credentials.

Q: When a customer registers through social login in One Page Checkout, how do they get a password?

A: The module can send an account-setup email containing a password reset link — never the password in plain text. You can see which provider each customer used (registration and last login) in the back-office customer grid.

Q: Do I need a separate social login module if I use One Page Checkout?

A: No, not for PayPal, Facebook or Google — social login for these three is already included in One Page Checkout, so a standalone social login module would be redundant.

Group 4: reCAPTCHA & security

Q: Does One Page Checkout include Google reCAPTCHA? Which versions are supported?

A: Yes. One Page Checkout supports reCAPTCHA v2, v3, Enterprise checkbox and Enterprise score, with a configurable score threshold (default 0.5). You need your own Google keys, and reCAPTCHA is disabled by default until you configure it.

Q: Can I enable reCAPTCHA only on the guest checkout form in One Page Checkout?

A: Yes. Once the global reCAPTCHA switch is on, you can enable it separately for the login form, the guest form and the create-account form.

Q: Could reCAPTCHA block legitimate customers during One Page Checkout?

A: It can if misconfigured (wrong keys or an overly strict score threshold). Set up your Google keys first, test with a real checkout in test mode, and only then enable it for all visitors.

Group 5: Fields, design & customization

Q: Can I customize which address fields appear in One Page Checkout?

A: Yes. In the Address settings you control which fields are displayed and which are required (name, company, address, city, postcode, country, phone and more), and you can sort their order. You can also enable Google Places autocomplete to suggest addresses as customers type (requires a Google API key).

Q: Can I add a delivery date picker or a file upload field to One Page Checkout?

A: Yes, through additional information fields. One Page Checkout supports text, textarea, radio, checkbox, select, file, date, date/time and number fields. The answers are stored per cart and shown to staff on the order, in the back office and on the invoice PDF. Allowed file types include jpg, png, pdf, docx and zip.

Q: Can I change the layout and colors of the One Page Checkout page?

A: Yes. The Design tab offers four layouts and nine color settings (primary color, headings, borders, buttons, links and more) so the checkout matches your theme.

Q: Does One Page Checkout show a free-shipping progress bar?

A: Yes. The free-shipping notification is enabled by default and shows shoppers how much more they need to add to reach free shipping, based on the free-shipping thresholds of your carriers.

Q: Can I customize the checkout page URL and meta tags in One Page Checkout?

A: Yes. The SEO tab lets you set a multilingual meta title, meta description and friendly URL rewrite for the checkout page.

Group 6: Pricing, license & policies

Q: How much does One Page Checkout cost?

A: One Page Checkout was listed at €139.99 on prestahero.com.

Q: Is there a demo or free trial of One Page Checkout?

A: Yes. You can explore One Page Checkout through both the Front Office and Back Office demos before purchasing. The Front Office demo lets you experience the checkout flow and available layouts, while the Back Office demo lets you review the module’s configuration. We do not currently offer a separate downloadable free trial.

Q: Can I use my One Page Checkout license on a staging or test site?

A: Yes. When you purchase directly from PrestaHero, one license covers one live website (production) and one development or test website. Register your live domain when purchasing. If you need technical support for the development site, provide both the live and development domains when contacting our support team. Additional licenses are required for additional live websites.

Q: What is the refund policy for One Page Checkout?

A: Purchases made directly from PrestaHero are covered by our 15-day refund policy. A refund may be issued when the module has a technical problem, you report it to our support team within 15 days of purchase, provide the information needed for us to investigate, and we are unable to resolve the issue. Please see the PrestaHero Refund Policy for the full conditions.

Q: What happens after the 1-year support period expires? Can I keep using One Page Checkout?

A: Yes. You can continue using the module on the licensed store after the 1-year free technical support period expires. Purchases made directly from PrestaHero also continue to receive module updates through PrestaHero Connect; however, technical assistance beyond basic usage questions requires an active support plan.

Support renewal costs 40% of the product price when renewed before the current support period expires, or 70% when renewed after it has expired. You can renew from My Account → Download & licenses.

Q: What is the difference between buying One Page Checkout on prestahero.com vs the Addons marketplace?

A: The module and features are the same. The main differences are the purchase platform, support and update terms, and refund policy. Buying from prestahero.com includes 1 year of technical support and updates through PrestaHero Connect, while Marketplace purchases follow PrestaShop’s Business Care and refund policies.
