How to Save Product Editing Options for Future Use in PrestaShop

Managing a large product catalog often involves making repetitive bulk edits. Instead of setting up the same filters and edit settings over and over again, wouldn’t it be great to save them and use them later?

With the Product Manager module, you can save product filters and editing configurations as templates. These templates help you quickly apply the same edits in the future, saving you time and effort.

This guide will show you how to create and reuse mass edit templates.

Can I save product editing options for future use?

Yes, you can! The Product Manager module allows you to:

  • Save product filters: Quickly filter the same set of products in the future.
  • Save bulk edit configurations: Store editing preferences, such as price updates, SEO changes, or category assignments.
  • Reuse templates: Apply saved templates with one click to speed up future edits.

Steps to save product editing options

Step 1: Access the Mass Edit page

Log into your PrestaShop back office.

Option 1:

Navigate to the Product Manager module.

Click on the “Mass Edit” link to open the product listing page.

Option 2:

Navigate to “Catalog > Mass Edit” page.

Step 2: Set up your product filter

Before making changes, you need to filter the products you want to edit.

- Click “Add condition” to filter your products.

- Use various filtering options, such as:

  • Product name
  • Reference code
  • Category
  • Price range
  • Stock quantity
  • Tags & attributes

- Combine multiple conditions using AND/OR logic to refine your search.

Step 3: Configure product editing options

Once your product list is ready, define the types of product information you want to edit:

  • Basic info: Name, images, reference, category
  • Quantity & pricing: Stock levels, price adjustments
  • SEO elements: Meta titles, meta descriptions, URLs
  • Shipping details: Carrier options, weight, dimensions
  • Other information: Tags, product conditions, attached files

Tip: You can also edit product information in multiple languages!

Step 4: Save your configuration as a template

At any step of the mass edit process (Step 1, Step 2, or Step 3), look for the “Save as Template” option.

Enter a descriptive name for your template (e.g., “Seasonal Price Update” or “SEO Optimization for New Products”).

Click “Save” – your template is now ready to use!

Step 5: Reuse your saved templates

The next time you need to make similar edits, go to Catalog > Mass Edit.

Select “Mass Edit Template” and choose the saved configuration.

Click “Save” – your settings will be loaded instantly, allowing you to proceed with the mass edit.

Example scenario: Updating seasonal prices

Imagine you need to increase the price of summer collection products every year:

  • Create a filter to select summer-related products.
  • Set up a price increase (e.g., increase all prices by 10%).
  • Save the template as “Summer Collection Price Update”.

Next year, simply load the template and apply the changes with one click!

By utilizing mass edit templates, you can streamline your product management process, making it faster and more efficient!
