How to Manage Instagram Tags
The INS Shopping Slider module allows you to categorize Instagram photos and videos using tags. This feature helps you organize content, enhance user navigation, and create a structured gallery for your PrestaShop store. Each tag is displayed as a separate tab or page, showcasing relevant photos and videos, making your store more intuitive and engaging for visitors.
1. What Are Instagram Tags?
Tags in this module serve as custom categories for your Instagram content. They allow you to:
- Group photos and videos by themes, topics, or attributes.
- Display tags on various parts of your website, such as the homepage, gallery page, or sidebar.
- Provide users with a dedicated page for each tag, making exploring specific collections or themes easy.
Note: These tags are not the same as Instagram hashtags. They are used exclusively within your PrestaShop store and do not interact with Instagram’s hashtag system.
2. How to create and configure tags
2.1 Creating a new tag
Follow these steps to create tags for your Instagram content:
Step 1: Go to the module configuration page in your PrestaShop back office.
Step 2: Click "TAGS" in the module’s main menu.
Step 3: Click the "+" (Add New) button to open the "Manage Tag" popup.
Step 4: In the "Tag Info" tab, fill out the following fields:
- Tag name: Enter the tag's name (e.g., "Summer Collection").
- Meta title, meta description, meta keywords: Add SEO information to improve search visibility.
- SEO-friendly URL: Create a custom URL for the tag page.
- Status: Enable or disable the tag.
- Featured: Decide if this tag should appear prominently on the Photos block or Gallery page.
Step 5: Click "Save" to create the tag.
2.2 Configuring the tag page
After creating a tag, configure its display settings:
Step 1: Open the "Shortcode" tab next to the "Tag info" tab.
Step 2: Adjust the following settings:
- Sort by: Choose how to sort photos/videos (e.g., default, most liked, recently uploaded).
- Initial photos displayed: Set the number of photos shown initially.
- Photos per row: Define the number of photos per row for desktop, tablet, and mobile views.
- Photo spacing: Specify the spacing (in pixels) between photos.

- Display options: Decide whether to show options like "Follow Us" links or Instagram usernames.
Step 3: Save your changes to apply the configurations.
3. Managing tags
3.1 Tag list overview
Access the "TAGS" page to view and manage all created tags. For each tag, you can see:
- Shortcode: Use this to display tagged content anywhere on your website.
- Tag details: Includes tag name, page link, status, and whether it’s featured.
- Order: Drag and drop tags to change their display order in the front office.
3.2 Using shortcodes
Shortcodes generated for each tag allow you to insert tagged photos/videos into specific pages or sections of your store, ensuring flexibility in content placement.
4. Benefits of using tags
- Enhanced navigation: Tags make it easier for visitors to explore content by themes or collections.
- Improved aesthetics: Categorized photos and videos create a cleaner, more structured gallery.
