How to Send Discount Codes to Customers After Social Login

Rewarding customers with discount codes after they login using their social accounts is a great way to incentivize engagement, build loyalty, and boost sales on your PrestaShop store. The SOCIAL LOGIN module makes it easy to configure and automate the distribution of discount codes via email or pop-up notifications.

In this guide, we’ll walk you through the process of setting up discount codes, sending them to customers, and tracking their usage.

Step-by-step guide to configure and send discount codes

Step 1: Access the Discounts menu

From the PrestaShop admin panel, navigate to the SOCIAL LOGIN module configuration page.

Click on the “Discounts” menu to start configuring discount codes.

Step 2: Configuring discount codes

The SOCIAL LOGIN module allows you to create and assign discount codes in two ways:

2.1. Fixed discount code

If you choose to use a fixed discount code:

  • Select an existing discount code from your PrestaShop store.
  • To view available discount codes, navigate to Catalog > Discounts in your admin panel.

2.2. Automatically generated discount codes

Alternatively, let the SOCIAL LOGIN module generate unique discount codes for each customer automatically.

Type of discount:

  • By percentage: A percentage discount is applied to the cart (excluding shipping costs).
  • By amount: A fixed discount amount (in USD or your store’s currency). You can choose to include or exclude tax.
  • No discount: Create a voucher with no value but can be used for promotions.

Availability: Set how long the discount code will remain valid (default: 30 days).

Prefix and description: Customize the discount code prefix (e.g., “SOCIAL-”) and write a description for the voucher that customers will see.

Step 3: Sending discount codes

3.1. Choose social networks

Select the social networks that will trigger discount code delivery when customers log in or register using their accounts. You can apply this to all supported social networks or limit it to specific ones.

3.2. Delivery methods

You can send discount codes via:

  • Email:

Customize the email subject and content.

Include dynamic fields like the customer’s name and the generated discount code for personalization.

  • Pop-up notification:

Design a pop-up message that displays the discount code after login.

Customize the title, message content, and call-to-action buttons to align with your store’s branding.

  • Both email and pop-up: Provide customers with dual notifications for higher visibility.

After configuring the delivery method, click the Save button to activate your settings.

Tracking discount code usage

To monitor and manage discount code performance, use the following tools provided by the SOCIAL LOGIN module:

Dashboard menu

Navigate to the Dashboard menu on the module configuration page.

View an overview of the total number of discount codes generated for customers who logged in via social networks.

Check the total number of discount codes that have been used by customers.

Social users menu

Navigate to the Social Users menu on the module configuration page.

Review detailed information about the discount codes generated for each customer, including:

  • Code status: See whether a code is unused, used, or expired.
  • Customer-specific details: Identify which discount code was assigned to each customer.

This detailed tracking helps you evaluate the success of your discount campaigns and adjust your strategies for better results.

Integrating discount codes into your social login process not only enhances the shopping experience but also increases the likelihood of customer retention and repeat purchases. With the SOCIAL LOGIN module, you can automate and personalize this feature, making it effortless to reward your customers and grow your business.
