How to Set Up Different Discount Levels for Wholesale Customers

The Wholesale B2B module for PrestaShop allows you to transform your store into a professional B2B wholesale platform. One of the key features of this module is the ability to set up different discount levels for your wholesale customers. This guide will walk you through the process of creating wholesale levels and configuring discounts for each level.

Creating a new wholesale level

To create a new wholesale level and set a discount for it, follow these steps:

Step 1: Navigate to the configuration page of the Wholesale B2B module. From the menu, navigate to “Customer > Wholesale levels

Step 2: In the "Wholesale levels" area, click the "+" button to add a new wholesale level.

Step 3: Fill in the details on the "Add level" page:

  • Level name: Enter the level name. You can input the name in multiple languages.
  • Discount (Percentage): Set the discount percentage for this level. This discount will be applied to the product prices for wholesale customers at this level.
  • Minimum quantity to get discount: Specify the minimum quantity of each product that wholesale customers need to add to their cart to receive the wholesale discount. This is a global value but can be customized for each specific product on the product edit page.
  • Price display method: Choose whether prices will be displayed with tax included or tax excluded.
  • Order amount (USD): Set the total order amount required for a wholesale customer to be automatically upgraded to this group. Leave this field blank to disable auto-upgrade.

Step 4: Click Save to add the new wholesale level.

Managing wholesale levels

Once you have added wholesale levels, you can manage them as follows:

  • All wholesale levels you add will be listed in the Wholesale Levels section.
  • The wholesale levels are sorted in ascending order based on the discount percentage.
  • The Wholesale Levels List includes the following columns: Order amount, level name, discount, minimum quantity to get discount, member, and action.
  • You can easily view the main details of each wholesale level and edit or delete levels as needed.

Automatic level upgrade

To ensure your customers are automatically upgraded to the appropriate wholesale level when they meet certain criteria, configure the following settings in the Wholesale Level settings:

  • Automatically change level when eligible: Set this option to Yes to enable automatic level changes.
  • Scheduled level check: Choose the frequency for performing level checks for each wholesale customer. Options include daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and a special day in the month.

Example:

Let's consider a specific example to illustrate how automatic level changes work. Imagine you run an online store that supplies office equipment. You have three wholesale levels:

  • Bronze Level: 5% discount for customers who purchase a minimum of 50 units per product and reach an order amount of $5,000.
  • Silver Level: 10% discount for customers who purchase a minimum of 100 units per product and reach an order amount of $10,000.
  • Gold Level: 15% discount for customers who purchase a minimum of 200 units per product and reach an order amount of $20,000.

A customer, John, regularly buys large quantities of office chairs from your store. Initially, John is at the Bronze Level. Over time, he reaches an order amount of $10,000 and starts purchasing 100 units per order. You have set the system to check customer levels weekly. When the system performs the weekly check, it automatically upgrades John to the Silver Level, rewarding his increased purchases with a higher discount.

By setting different discount levels, you can incentivize your wholesale customers to make larger purchases and reward them for their loyalty, ultimately boosting your sales and customer satisfaction.
